Jim Root, guitarist from Slipknot and Stone Sour, has collaborated with Fender to create this stylish looking, gutsy Artist series Telecaster. The Jim Root Tele is great for heavy rock playing styles. It has all the charm of a classic Fender Telecaster, but with the added punch and character of Jim Root's punk influence.
The Jim Root Artist Series features mahogany body, with a Flat White finish, and maple neck and fingerboard with 22 medium jumbo frets. The no-nonsense pickup system on the Jim Root is simple yet effective. With an EMG 81 Humbucking bridge pickup, EMG 60 neck pickup, and a 3-way pickup selector switch.
When clean, switching to neck produces a warm and bright sound, the middle selection mixes both pickups for a lighter rich tone, and the bridge pickup adds bite. When pushing through a gain channel, the pickups don't lose their warmth and richness, they enhance to produce a driven rock sound, perfect for heavy, deep tones. This guitar does not come with its original Jim Root grey tweed hard case.
